Groundwater exploration with remote sensing
The desk study for your groundwater exploration campaign in a few minutes instead of several days: favourable zones, targets to check on the ground and a report ready to share.

A step that is often skipped
Serious groundwater exploration happens in stages: desk study and remote sensing, then a geophysical survey in the field (resistivity soundings, electrical tomography), then exploratory drilling. For lack of time or budget, the first stage is often skipped, and the geophysics is then done blind.
BhdBlue performs this desk study automatically: it shows where to place geophysical profiles and boreholes for the best chance of success.
Who is it for?
- Drilling companies: offer clients a borehole site backed by a map, and drill fewer dry holes.
- Consultancies and hydrogeologists: save days on the remote-sensing phase and focus geophysics on the best targets.
- Municipalities, cooperatives and NGOs: prioritise drinking-water or irrigation sites over a large territory.
- Agricultural investors: check the water potential of land before buying or planting it.
What the report contains
- Groundwater potential map with classes from very low to very high.
- Best drilling targets with GPS coordinates, and a KML file for Google Earth.
- Maps of lineaments (faults and fractures), drainage and geology.
- Stability of each result under weight changes, and the criterion that weighs most at each proposed spot.
- French and Arabic versions, for the client as well as the authorities.
Built for professionals
The Pro plan lets you analyse many sites every month. The data and method are described in the report, so you can present and defend them to your clients. For a large territory, the Enterprise offer is made on quote.
Method and limits
Each analysis combines satellite-derived indicators (terrain, vegetation, drainage, lineaments), geological and climate datasets, and a multi-criteria GIS analysis (AHP) that estimates groundwater potential. It is neither a field measurement nor a geophysical survey. See the detailed method
- The 30 m grid is the spatial resolution of the analysis, not a guaranteed accuracy for a drilling spot.
- BhdBlue does not estimate the depth of the water table, its yield or volume, water salinity, or a probability of drilling success.
- The flow direction shown is that of surface water, derived from the terrain, not of the aquifer.
- Before a major borehole, have the spot confirmed by a hydrogeologist or an on-site geophysical survey.
Frequently asked questions
Does BhdBlue replace a geophysical survey?
No, it prepares it. Remote sensing shows favourable zones; on-site geophysics pins down the target and depth; only drilling confirms water. Together they greatly reduce the risk.
Can I use the reports with my clients?
Yes. The PDF reports are made to be shared, in French and Arabic, with the GPS coordinates of the proposed spots.
How many sites can I analyse?
It depends on the plan: single report, monthly Pro plan or Enterprise offer. Details are on the Pricing page.
